Era da un po’ che ci pensavo, ma proprio sabato, mentre ultimavo il mio consueto giro in una delle grandi catene del suolo italiano tra nuove e costose uscite videoludiche e Blu-ray/DVD più o meno ricercati, ne ho avuto la conferma: questo è il momento più conveniente e utile per possedere una Xbox 360 (così come una PlayStation 3!). In molti sono passati alla next-gen che tanto next non è (l’immagine qui a fianco ne è la prova calzante), ma gli altri avranno fatto bene ad aspettare momenti migliori per accaparrarsi le nuove e – nemmeno tanto – sognanti macchine da gioco? Sicuramente sì, e per tanti motivi.
In primis perché per un altro paio di anni saranno supportate con tantissimi titoli, talvolta in esclusiva; in seconda battuta perché una miriade di capolavori degli scorsi anni sta inondando gli scaffali dei negozi a cifre ridicole, in alcuni casi a prezzi talmente bassi da “meritare” il degradante posizionamento nei cestoni dove quasi vengono scartati/lanciati altrove dai potenziali acquirenti con una non curanza da premio Oscar.
Ci sono addirittura dei casi eclatanti di videogiochi usciti negli ultimi dodici mesi proposti a prezzi che quasi mi spingono a comprare altre copie. Ed è per questo che volevo proporvi la TOP 5 dei titoli – rigorosamente scatolati – più belli, convenienti e sottovalutati dalla maggioranza dei giocatori impegnati a stare al passo con le uscite o interessati alle più pubblicizzate produzioni tripla A. Non che questi cinque siano stati prodotti con quattro spiccioli, ma almeno la qualità c’è e si sente.
Vi lascio quindi spulciare la mini lista, invitandovi anche a dare uno sguardo alle vetrine virtuali di Xbox Game Store: magari li troverete a delle cifre ancora minori, vai a sapere.
Capcom/Ninja Theory – Prezzo: € 15/30
Dopo lo splendente periodo delle uscite su PlayStation 2 e il non troppo convincente quarto capitolo, DmC: Devil May Cry ha posto l’enfasi su un design poco apprezzato dai fan della serie. Il reboot di Ninja Theory ha venduto malaccio e i più l’hanno disprezzato per la presenza del Dante dall’aspetto quasi emo e privo della caratteristica chioma platinata già prima della sua uscita. E invece a conti fatti questo DmC in salsa inglese è tutt’altro che un titolo trascurabile, è anzi un action solido, dalle meccaniche collaudate e divertenti, ma soprattutto con una sublime direzione artistica. A queste cifre sarebbe un reato non dargli una chance, così sarete pronti ad afferrare da subito un eventuale seguito. Sempre se ci sarà ancora spazio per questa giovane deriva della saga. E, a differenza del gioco precedente, qui c’è la certezza di un seguito che sarete pronti ad accogliere in caso di acquisto.
Square Enix/Crystal Dynamics – Prezzo: € 15/30
Le origini della bella Lara in un’avventura che segna egregiamente un nuovo inizio per la storica serie di Tomb Raider. Ne abbiamo già decantato le lodi nella recente recensione della Definitive Edition per Xbox One, quindi, visto che sostanzialmente il gioco è sempre quello, perché non accaparrarselo per pochi euro su Xbox 360? L’esperienza, tralasciando le novità e le aggiunnte alla resa tecnica generale, è praticamente la stessa per un videogame che, alla stregua dei più blasonati Uncharted, offre un azione di gioco spassosa e dall’agevole esecuzione.
Microsoft/Epic Games – Prezzo: € 20/30
Judgment, ovvero il capitolo più maltrattato della serie che ha fatto la fortuna di Xbox 360. Affidato ai polacchi di Epic Games Poland (al secolo People Can Fly), Gears of War: Judgment ha avuto il coraggio di rinnovare la collaudata formula senza stravolgerla, svecchiandola egregiamente con un azione più frenetica e dinamica. Non ho idea di quale terribile destino si sia avventato sullo splendido comparto multiplayer – la modalità OverRun è qualcosa che verrà ricordata (da pochi) negli annali -, ma nel peggiore dei casi vi ritroverete con una simpatica campagna singleplayer in compagnia di tre nuovi eroi e del biondo Baird. E come se non bastasse, le prime copie prodotte, forse le uniche a raggiungere gli scaffali, includono un codice per scaricare il primissimo Gears of War. Come si suol dire: prenderete due piccioni con una fava.
2K/Irrational Games – Prezzo € 20/30
Bioshock è una delle tante belle cose che ci ha lasciato in eredità la scorsa generazione. Non a caso in molti stanno già piangendo in vista di un futuro poco roseo: dopo la “chiusura” di Irrational games, la serie rimarrà infatti nelle mani di 2K. Intanto potreste però recuperare Infinite, il terzo capitolo che lo scorso marzo ci fece sognare tra le nuvole di Columbia. E magari, considerando anche il prezzo attuale, non sarà poi tanto uno sforzo sborsare un paio di decine di euro per impossessarsi del Season Pass che “regala” l’accesso ai due episodi di Burial at Sea, una nuova storia nei panni di Booker DeWitt nelle claustrofobiche mura acquatiche di Rapture. E poi, parliamoci chiaro: una narrazione così sarà difficile trovarla in altri prodotti, old o next-gen che siano.
Deep Silver/Volition inc. – Prezzo € 20/30
È vero, è vero: in giro c’è un certo Grand Theft Auto V che le da di santa ragione a qualsiasi titolo free-roaming e non solo. Ma volete proprio disdegnare le irriverenti avventure dei Saints? Alcuni sostengono addirittura che la produzione di Volition inc. sia dannatamente più spassosa della più conosciuta e ambita serie Rockstar Games. E allora, visto che la maggioranza di voi ha già giocato fino allo sfinimento a GTA V, perché non dare una possibilità ai toni proibiti di Saints Row IV? Magari un ancor più spensierato approccio e il condimento no-sense di alcuni frangenti potrà regalarvi qualche grassa risata e tante sane ore di “giocazzeggio” puro. Cercatelo nel cestone del mega-store sotto casa, è quello con la copertina violacea.
