Cosa sappiamo di Call of Duty: Ghosts?

Nonostante alcuni possano non apprezzare particolarmente la filosofia dietro lo sviluppo di Call of Duty, rimane il fatto che si tratti di uno degli shooter più famosi e venduti nella storia, osteggiato potenzialmente solo da Battlefield di Electronic Arts.

Come ogni anno è arrivato il momento di parlare delle caratteristiche che potremmo trovare sul nuovo capitolo della serie, almeno secondo alcune indiscrezioni trapelate in rete.

Le prime informazioni arrivano direttamente dal sito della Tesco, dove sono state diffusi dei dettagli molto interessanti su Call of Duty: Ghosts, titolo di cui si attende ormai solamente l’annuncio ufficiale. In base alla descrizione presente sul sito web, questo nuovo FPS dovrebbe rappresentare “la prossima generazione della serie”, offrendo numerose novità tra cui anche una storia completamente inedita affiancata ad una nuova esperienza di gameplay – qualcosa che molti attendevano da anni.

L’info più interessante riguarda però la posizione del titolo rispetto alla next gen. Call of Duty: Ghosts, infatti, dovrebbe essere stato realizzato attraverso un motore di prossima generazione, lasciando intendere come Activision abbia deciso di pubblicarlo direttamente su PS4 e Xbox 720 così da sfruttare le loro potenzialità, senza doversi necessariamente adattare all’hardware offerto dalle attuali console –limitate rispetto all’avanzamento complessivo della tecnologia.

Un anno di pausa (meritata?) per Black Ops II

Per quanto riguarda invece la data di pubblicazione, le indiscrezioni più ricorrenti parlano del 5 novembre 2013 come giorno scelto da Activision per l’arrivo sugli scaffali. La lavorazione del titolo dovrebbe essere stata messa nelle mani di Infinity Ward, almeno secondo lo stile della box art.

Allo stato attuale, le informazioni sulle caratteristiche di questo shooter rimangono particolarmente confuse, vista l’assenza di qualsiasi materiale ufficiale. Il fatto però che Tesco abbia prontamente rimosso i dati trapelati lascia supporre che quanto saputo fino ad ora sia effettivamente attendibile – o almeno speriamo che lo sia.

Il fatto che CoD: Ghosts sia basato su un motore di nuova generazione è una notizia che farà felici molti dei fan della serie, viste le numerose richieste di rinnovamento arrivate negli ultimi anni – tali da accusare Activision di vivere di rendità senza in realtà apportare reali novità alla serie. Squadra che vince, insomma, non si cambia.

A questo punto non rimane che attendere l’annuncio ufficiale di Activision, che non dovrebbe tardare ad arrivare se consideriamo il livello di attenzione intorno al gioco. La speranza è che ci sia qualcosa di veramente innovativo, che possa donare nuova linfa al franchise e ricreare l’atmosfera (la qualità) dei primi capitoli.
